Sharanaya Manivannan is an award-winning author, poet, and illustrator. In this conversation with bilingual author and poet Anukrti Upadhyay, she spoke about the three cultures she grew up with, her hankering for the island home where her ancestors lived, and her stories that dance at the intersection of real and fantastical. She read an excerpt from her latest book, a graphic novel titled 'Incantations over Water' about myths, nature, the trauma of displacement.
